Abstract
This research aims to identify the contribution of certain body measurements, physical fitness abilities, and kinematic variables to the performance of the overhand serve, and to establish them as scientific indicators in the volleyball player selection process. The researcher used a descriptive approach with correlational analysis. The research sample consisted of (25) fourth-year secondary school students aged (16-17) years. The research instruments included body measurements, physical fitness tests, and kinematic analysis of the overhand serve performance. The results showed statistically significant positive correlations between anthropometric measurements (total height, arm length, upper arm circumference) and kinematic variables (ball release angle, elbow angle) and serving performance. The results also indicated that physical abilities, particularly explosive arm power, significantly contributed to explaining skill performance. The researcher concluded that considering these variables is crucial in sports selection and training processes, given their active role in improving the skill performance of volleyball players.
