Abstract

This study aims at investigating the effect of using the Hexa-Dimensional Strategy (PDEODE), (Predict-Discuss-Explain-Observe-Discuss-Explain) in teaching basketball rules on the visual thinking of third-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Duhok. The researchers used an experimental method that measured the two-dimensional difference between the experimental and control groups. The research sample consisted of (48) students. 24 students have been studied according to the Hexa-Dimensional Strategy while the other group which is of 24 students have been taught using the traditional method. Then the researchers administered a visual test. After collecting, classifying, and statistically analyzing the data using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), the results showed that applying both the Hexa-dimensional strategy and the traditional method had a positive result on visual reasoning in basketball rules. But the Hexa-dimensional strategy outperformed the traditional method in the test, achieving a moderate improvement in visual thinking for basketball rules.
