  Study Title: School Sports between Reality and Aspiration for the Middle Education Stage – A Field Study on Some Middle Schools in Biskra Province.

  Objective of the Study: The study aimed to identify the reality of school sports in Algeria at the middle education level and to propose measures and actions that could contribute to the advancement of school sports. This was achieved by investigating the main reasons preventing such sports practices within educational institutions. Among the most significant reasons identified were the neglect of the cultural association of school sports and the lack of regular school sports practices, along with other barriers such as inadequate physical facilities and resources.

  Methodology: The researcher used a descriptive approach to align with the nature of the study. The sample of the study consisted of 38 physical education teachers from Biskra Province, selected randomly. A questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data, consisting of three main areas related to the research hypotheses, aiming to propose solutions that could enhance and promote school sports in Algeria.

  Statistical Analysis: After statistical processing using the SPSS v25 software, the following results were obtained:

  
  
  
  
  • The cultural association of school sports suffers from marginalization and neglect.
  
  
  • School sports practices are neither organized nor regular.
  
  
  • School sports continue to face numerous obstacles and challenges.
