Abstract

Standardized training programs implemented regularly lead to rapid and consistent improvements in the functional, physical, and technical efficiency of athletes, ultimately achieving the goals of the training process. The success of the program is measured by the progress achieved by the athlete in the specific activity. To develop training programs for different sports, the coach must first consider the principle of specificity in training, that is, specificity based on the dominant energy system. In other words, the coach must identify the dominant energy system in that particular activity. The most important recommendations are:

  1. Coaches should base their training programs on the interval training guide.

2. The interval training program should be used to develop specific physical fitness components for handball.
