Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy

The Journal of Sport Sciences is committed to preserving the scholarly record of its published research and ensuring long-term access to its content. Archiving and digital preservation are essential responsibilities of the journal in protecting published scholarly output and facilitating its use by researchers, students, and academic  institutions. The journal maintains organized electronic copies of all published issues and accepted articles, including article files and associated metadata such as article titles, author names, abstracts, keywords, publication dates, and article links. These files are organized within the journal’s official electronic archive to ensure accessibility and  traceability. The journal seeks to protect its digital content from loss, damage, or unauthorized alteration by maintaining regular backup copies and preserving files in appropriate electronic environments managed by the journal or the publishing institution. The journal also reviews its electronic archive periodically to ensure the integrity of published  files and links. Published issues and articles are made available through the journal’s official website. The journal also seeks to support the indexing of its content in appropriate scientific databases and indexing services whenever available, in order to enhance the  visibility, accessibility, and citation of published research.

In the event of technical changes to the journal website or electronic publishing system, the Editorial Board and the relevant technical units work to preserve and safely transfer the digital archive to the new system while maintaining article metadata and links as much  as possible.

The Journal of Sport Sciences affirms that its archiving and digital preservation policy aims to ensure that published scholarly content remains accessible, organized, and traceable, while preserving authors’ rights, protecting the integrity of the scholarly record, and  serving the academic community.
